Plea
Apparently i’m not the only one who had an intense august ride.
I decided it was time for an invocation.
if you’re with us on the sinking ship, I see you.
I beg of you on scarred knees,
Fairies, tricksters and dream walkers,
Ladies of bark and air whose smiles stalk my footsteps
Like feather capes,
ivy shadows
I call every eye that warmed my ghost with its touch
To build around me a gossamer net of hope
And spin gently around my wrists
Golden braids of belonging
Build around my sleeping courage
A woven reed roof of murmured song,
A tapestry of remembering
A cleansing wind to scour off the choking black mud
That walls me in whispers of exile
Burst me from this mind prison
and rise within like a bubbling stream
Fresh after a thousand years sleeping
I beg of you with all that I am
guide my feet
to a haven
Of strong arms and packed earth
I can bear to stagger on
No longer,
cradling home in my arms like a dried out stunted tree
